Since re-opening for in-person training in September, WFS has made a concerted effort to minimize the risk of COVID to our clients and thereby the community at large.
Before opening, we drew up a very detailed health and safety plan addressing three areas of concern when dealing with COVID: equipment, flooring and air. Our plan was meant to not only minimize the risk of COVID transmission in the studio by going above and beyond industry requirements, but at the same time minimizing the impact on our clients. We wanted our clients to walk in and feel both as safe and as "normal" as possible.
Our plan includes:
While no one can completely eliminate the risk of contracting COVID, we think our little boutique training studio has done a pretty darn good job ensuring our clients have the cleanest equipment, the cleanest floors, the cleanest air hands down. These investments we've made in equipment and time are a continuation of our long-standing commitment to client safety first and above all else - including profitability. It's one on the many reasons we've been blessed to be in business in Downtown Westfield for over 12 years, and why we have a reputation for excellence.
In the center, Casey Jones Distillery (Kentucky) Hand Sanitizer 80% Alcohol. To the left, one of our four touchless hand sanitizer dispensers, to the right, disposable gloves.
This is the EMist Epix 360 TruElectrostatic Handheld Disinfectant Sprayer. This fantastic piece of technology ionically charges the particles of disinfectant so the disinfectant is drawn to objects in the room, wrapping around and enveloping handles and equipment, getting into the crevices and onto surfaces in a way that a typical wipe and spray just can't. We are incredibly proud to say that we have this remarkable piece of tech at Westfield Fitness. To learn more about it, click here.
This is one of two CO2 meters at the studio. CO2 is produced when a person exhales. Aerosols in that exhalation can potentially carry COVID. Studies show that COVID can linger long after a person exhales, possibly infecting healthy people who enter the room. While it would be hard to actively detect COVID in the air, we can by proxy by monitoring the reused air/CO2 and reacting with increased air flow (bigger, louder fan, open doors, etc.).
